Makai Senki Disgaea a.k.a. Netherworld War Saga Disgaea ep. 1 has been released/subbed by Anime Universe.

Fans of the PS2 Strategy RPG take note: Laharl, Etna, Flonne and company are back! (Mid Boss and Prinnies included). Fans will be treated to some events/music that were inspired by the game, not to mention the appearance of special attacks such as Etna's Prinny Raid.

From those looking for a good romantic,comedy check out I's Pure. For those familiar with the Manga, this series basically is the same Seto-Iori relationship.

TES4:Oblivion may not be for everyone but for those who REALLY are into RP gaming should check this game out. For those in the GTA generation, think of it as GTA Medieval Fantasy Style but instead of jacking cars, you can steal horses. or cups. or spoons or whatever household ware you choose.

While it may seem overwhelming especially to gamers used to Japanese RPGs where you basically go from point A to B and to new gamers to the series; TES4 Oblivion is a good example of a freeform world where you can follow the beaten path or seek adventure by veering off of it.

It aint perfect, requiring a beast of a rig to run, the 360 version has some framerate issues but these serve as minor distractions to the otherwise excellent production.

Patrick Stewart, Linda Carter,LOTR's Sean Bean and Superman's Terence Stamp do provide stunning voiceovers. TNG fans will get a kick out of Picard telling you to "..shut the jawsss....of Oblivion." Terence Stamp will likewise impress with his spot on rendition of Mankar while Wonderwoman does the voices for the Nord women in the game and Sean Bean doing the role of Martin Septim.

Dear Mom,

Ill be away for a couple of days/months/years for a vacation in the Imperial province of Cyrodiil. I hear that the grass, trees and landscape looks absolutely stunning over there. Unlike in our province of Morrowind, people are actually doing getting things done in Cyrodiil, opening shops in the morning,maybe hanging out in the tavern in the evening and occasionally chatting about news about the Emperor's Death. People here are also more tolerant of other races.
Whats funny is, i was immediately locked up for no apparent reason once i stepped across the Boundary. Good thing the Emperor Uriel Septim actually was the one who sprung me from prison, all the while muttering about destruction of Tamriel blah blah blah and something about dreams. He even gave me an amulet which i think is worth 10 times the worth of our local magistrate. What a nice guy! Too bad some wiseass assassins got him while we were making our escape through the dungeon. Once outside i was amazed at how err.... grassy it looks. I even sent you some paintings to show how it looks over here (ignore the behind the back poses). Even though i loved trekking and silt striders, i actually was able to "acquire" a horse from one very occupied individual.
Finally, traveling in style! Hope to write again soon, Dont forget to feed the striders.

Here’s Kiven’s blow-by-blow account of Pacquiao-Morales 3--Ed.)

Hello, sports fans… and gamers everywhere. Electronic Arts’ Fight Night Round 3 has hit store shelves and once again it’s time to wear those old gloves for another round of console boxing.

When you first boot up the game, you’ll notice that the Xbox 360 loading screen is virtually the same as the PlayStation 2 version, apart from the 360 showing off its graphical prowess in a short intro movie. After selecting the Play Now option to create a match between two boxers, I naturally chose our very own Manny Pacquiao as my boxer and picked Erik Morales as his opponent.

If you look at their stats, you’ll see that Morales has a slight speed advantage while Manny has slightly better punching power and a tougher chin. The 360 version really looks next-gen, with great-looking fighters and detailed arenas, although the entrances were trimmed down this year compared to the somewhat customizable entrances in Fight Night Round 2.

Round 1: Both fighters try to establish their jabs, with Pacman landing a few body shots that I hope would slow down Morales in the later rounds. Trying to force some more combos, Pacman gets rocked by a couple of counterpunches to the face as Morales reminds you that in FNR3, you just can’t throw punch after punch.

The PC/Xbox360 Standard and Collectors Edition are scheduled to be shipped March 20, 2006.

How long has it been in development?
Since Mid 2002.

What does the name "Oblivion" mean? Tamriel is the world of The Elder Scrolls and Oblivion is the equivalent of Hell in Tamriel.

Where does Oblivion take place? In Cyrodiil, this is the capital province of Tamriel, your journeys will take you to parts of Oblivion itself.

What are the differences between the Standard and Collectors Edition?
The Collectors edition comes with a Pocketbook to the Empire, a Special Behind the Scnes making Of Oblivion DVD and a Replica of the Septim coin used in the game and costs $10 more.

Will Oblivion fit into one DVD disc?
Yes, even featuring 25 hours of recorded voice, Oblivion will fit in just one DVD disc.

How long will it take me to finish Oblivion?
The main quest would be 20-25 hours, if you try to explore every nook and cranny then it will be closer to 150-200 hours.

Yes. The hard drive is going to be an option and not a requirement.

What are the differences between the PC and 360 versions?
Both versions would be essentially the same due to having the same art assets, same dialogs and quests although obviously the control scheme would be different. In terms of visual differences, the 360 version and a souped up shader model 3.0 compliant PC would be minor.

Will there be additional content?
The PC version will have the TES Construction set available for download while the 360 version will have content available from Xbox Live ranging from updates, additional content, themes and gamer pictures.

Will Oblivion include multiplayer?
No, Oblivion is a single-player game only.

What perspective do I play the game in, first or third-person?
With a press of a button/key, both first-person and third person views will be available throughout the game although the game was meant to be played from the first person perspective.

This French made Flash based MMORPG is a blast to play for turn based startegy fans. The Character Designs even remind you of Nippon Ichi Games (Disgaea,Phantom Brave,makai kingdom etc).It looks very polished for an independent MMOG unlike most of those Korean ones....

You can play for free although you wont have the 100% experience.

look for Kivenhood the Sacrier if youre online.=)

EDIT: The combat sucks. im a diehard TBS fan but in this case Blech... love the artwork though.

i just downloaded the demo for Freestyle, a new casual basketball game from levelup games.

Impressions:
1) POTAH walang kwenta ang community, dont expect to find someone for a decent conversation.Also, Once you pass ingame dont expect a pass back, even if youre as wide as the atlantic ocean.

Ingame conversations go like this:
"Gagu ka!"
"Hoy, Mga laggers!"
"Pasa ka naman"
"ano? lalaban ka pa?"
"oi gago lagg ka!"

thats what you get i guess if the main consumers of these casual games are those who arent even legally allowed to drink.

2) Sluggish controls
3) Laggy connections

EDIT: OK,OK. The game is much more enjoyable with friends and other players that know how to play as part of a group.i can write more but i need to go back in hehehe.see ya there! my handle is kivenhood.

Be Warned: Civilization 4 is dangerous for your health. Its so addicting that the developers even put an in-game alarm clock so you know when to stop playing and continue with your life. This game makes me appreciate the polish that Blizzard (WoW) has on their games. RF Online has amazing potential although i think they need to fix the text display bugs, polish the camera lag, allow windowed mode, get a better translator and spruce up the environment.

Impressions: Initial gameplay gives the impression that this is basically Doom 3 with a somewhat more interesting story. It looks great although im not really a fan of the "demon/strogg jumping/bursting out of nowhere" kind of encounters.

Impressions: F.E.A.R. freaks me out. Its the Vampire Bloodlines haunted mansion all over again but this time its one whole friggin' haunted game! Great effects and firefights complement the spooky atmosphere.

Im just waiting for my own personal account to be reactivated although ive been tinkering with Ramil's former account. Not bad since i get to play his Level 60 Shaman.But damn if i dont miss my own level 60 Orc Hunter and his insanely cool(pun intended) frostsaber pet, not to mention my hoard of gold amassed through (both?) the auction houses and painstaking farm..errr grinding.

Word is much has been improved with hunter's since i left WoW 5 months ago, pets tank more and i even see mages whining about how pets literally tear them to shreds due to improvements. Ha!

Im thinking of moving into the Pet mastery more although i do like to hit hard using my Hurricane (can i still sell this thing for like 800g?).I still have lots of uber loot stashed in my bank as well, might be a good time to sell em off since Feathermoon seems to be full all the time meaning more potential buyers.bwahahahha.

Apple just unveiled their new Video ipod.
If you bought an Ipod Mini or Shuffle the last 3 mos, you were screwed because the Nano is a much better purchase. If you bought that black 4gb Nano a couple of weeks ago then it may sadden you to know that the video ipod is only (only lng daw no? hehe)a couple of thousand pesoses more but plays video too.

Holy Crap! Sg-1 has been disbanded, O'Neill is in retirement, Daniel is going to Atlantis, Carter is on the Offworld Base and Tealc is tied up at the Jaffa homeworld.

Now there is a new commanding officer for SG-1 and he is not happy that he needs to build a new team from scratch.

Sounds wonky? it sure is. The only saving grace so far is the appearance of "Andromeda" Lexa Doig who plays SGC's Dr. Lam.

Makai Kingdom is the latest of Nippon Ichi's hardcore strategy rpgs. It tells the story of Lord Zetta, an overly egotistical Overlord attempting to regain his netherworld back after failing to halt its prophesized downfall by Pram The Oracle, another Overlord.

This latest iteration of the same strategy rpg/leveling formula, employed in such titles as Disgaea and Phantom Brave, is back and better than ever; Even though it features the "gridless" movement system and invite system of Phantom Brave, Makai Kingdom also brings back the Reincarnation and item world feature of Disgaea and also adds a new strategy element to the mix in the form of summoning or "inviting" buildings into battle which gives boost to characters housed within.

The voice acting in English is the best i have heard (no need to switch to Jap unless youre really hardcore into jap voice acting) and the story and characters are hilarious. Nippon Ichi doesnt break new ground with Makai Kingdom (known as Phantom Kingdom in the US) but for the hardcore srpg crowd, this is a must have title.

I just wish that Nippon Ichi earns a lot of $$$$ so that it could start building other franchises and maybe redefine a genre the way they did with Disgaea: HOD.

DHL - You need to treat your customers better.

Edit June 10 2005: DHL sent a letter saying na kami daw ang at fault at di complete papers. THEN WHY THE HELL DID YOUR DHL EMPLOYEES KEPT SAYING THAT EVERYTHING WAS OK UP TO THE DAY NA ISHISHIP NA?

So its ok to tell us na sorry na lang kung mawalan kami ng pera? to not reprimand an erring employee and pass on the buck to a client while not, at the least, offer some sort of compensation sounds pretty unfair to me.

So if an employee/manager of DHL gives us wrong information which is the cause of a shipment delay and which will cost me a LOT of money e the fault is with us?

THATS BULLSHIT. And as ive said, if this happens to a corporate account, DHL will take our case more seriously than merely brushing it off like they did.

Imagine this:

1. I plan to ship out some ornamental plants to the US.
2. I go with DHL because i (erroneously) believed they provide the best service.
3. We go to DHL with a sample plant to check if they can send out our shipment. They said "No problem,Sir".
4. We also checked if they needed any papers for the shipment, some Phyto Sanitary permit.
5. We purchased the plants back in the province, get the papers DHL needed.
6. We brought the plants to the DHL office for shipping, again being informed that everything was in order. It was a Friday so the shipment will go out on Monday.
7. Tuesday came but DHL suddenly turns around and says "We cant ship your plants....", Now the reason they say is there are 2 more papers required in order to ship. WTF?

*Queue plants wilting, Clients fuming*

8. We cant ship cause no more plants, we cant refund because we were expecting to make money not return it.
9. DHL wants to pay us a $100 for our trouble which doesnt even come close to the $300 that were gonna be refunding. We told them that we will take $200 and shoulder the $100 because i know how hard it is to get something out of these corporate dogs. And that still doesnt account for the embarrasment and humiliation of explaining to the client what the hell happened. Result: No dice.

Im sure if this happened to a Corporate Account, there will be hell to pay at someone at DHL. Magkakandarapa sila trying to minimize damage to the customer.

If it was a natural disaster,then fine thats understandable, but the error came from one of your employees who failed to properly inform us that additional papers were required. Kaya namin yan sir, yan ang sabi sa amin.

BUT if youre just some smalltime or a starting business who got screwed, DHL seemingly doesnt care if you will be getting the embarrasment of explaining to clients what happened and lose money in the process.

Mini Review:
PVP Action rocks.Counterstrike for RPGs.
I hate the loot drop types, too limited especially coming from WoW and Diablo.
I love the world though, great graphics engine.
Gotta love the way your cape sways when you move.
I also hate the "railings" on the paths.not to mention you cant jump.
Awesome character designs.I wish wow would implement some of the ideas here.
I also like the Streaming Updates.No Patch Day Server downtime here.
GW makes you feel part of a bigger world, esp with Koreans and Americans vying for supremacy atop the international ladder.
Not as deep as WoW but a great game nonetheless.
Did i mention it has NO MONTHLY FEE?

Well, Season 8 has come and gone. But for SG-1 fans it will be a season to remember. Season 8 tied up a lot of loose ends and ended on a great outdoor shot of the team in the back of Jack's Cabin fishing, although in two distinctly different versions. Season 8 may be the last one for the group while Jack and Sam had a little mouth to mouth action going on (as evidenced by the screenshot above) which was last done about 3 seasons ago methinks. Oh well, im glad they completed(?) that Anubis and Oma/Daniel story arc as well as the Replicator Sam story arc . Here's hoping for a Season 9!

It seems that i have a growing reputation among the Horde warriors. Having been part of numerous battles, most notably the Defense of the Barrens and the Crossroads against the persistent Alliance threat.

It feels pretty much gratifying when Horde members come up to you and say "Great Job chasing those Level 60's across the Barrens!" or "You're my new Idol!".

Its pretty lame though that after one defense last week, i got creamed by a paladin in a duel in the docks of Ratchet.Blamed it to RL issues but it was still embarrasing being Owned in PVP. NERF PALADINS! Oh wait...Blizzard just did. LOL.

I had to use feign death to escape the wrath of this guy pictured above. I was having a nice stroll down at the Un'Goro Crater when suddenly the ground starts shaking. As i turned around i was getting whipped by an Elite monster 2 levels (54 i think)above me. Needless to say, i donned my best actor pose and use the Hunter's Feign Death ability.Adobo survives another close encounter.The End.Bow.

I had an interesting adventure through the Troll city of Zul'Farrak in Tanaris yesterday. I was in the company of 3 shamans and a Warrior, giving the party less crowd control than with a mage or a warlock. It was great being asked to be part of a group that didnt think differently of us Hunters. You see, Hunters have developed a bad reputation due to a couple of issues 1) some say we cant PULL (re: aggro a mob toward the party) properly. 2) Pets tend to aggro everything it passes especially when set to aggressive mode, prompting partymates to tell the Hunter to dismiss the Pet or set it to passive .

Typically Hunters would propose to be the main puller of the group but i dont follow this norm. Even if Blizzard wants us to be the pullers i think that warriors can do a good job as well. So i settled down as primarily a Ranged Damage Dealer or as my partymates would say a "walking DoT (Damage over Time)" effect.

So the strategy went like this 1) warrior does the pulling or charging 2) Pet aggros one mob, leaving one less for the others to deal with 3) Do some Ranged crits for the Pets target or another Mob 4) Partymates have easier time dispatching their share of the mob 5) Partymates help with pet's target or the Hunter's.

The Shaman in the group commented how great my pet was and even though they hated other groupings with Hunters, he liked what i was doing. They even ruffled King B behind the ears!

Had a smooth sailing through the Uldaman Instance in the Badlands today, been blessed to be in the party of great guys. We were comprised of a Priest, A Mage, A Hunter(me), A Warrior and a Rogue. I got lucky and snagged two Blue drops off the bosses. will post a screenie about that adventure next time.

I got my very own Wolf mount yesterday, now i move 60% faster than on foot not to mention the prestige of owning one.

Its almost a month since i first played WOW and im close to getting my own mount for my Level 44 Orc Hunter Adobo on the Feathermoon Realm.
Im still making up my mind which i should pick : from a Raptor (Troll Mount), an Undead Steed (Undead Mount) and the orc's own Wolf mount.
Also, soloed ShadowFang Keep,Wailing Caverns,Blackfathom Deeps and Razorfen Kraul in the last two weeks looking for item drops to be sold on the AH, i even completed the FANG set of Armor but being soulbound it was worth nothing to me at my current level. My guildmates from The Riders of Death were with me when we ran thru Razorfen Downs though.

During the past week,I also was able to tame Snarler(elite black wolf +100 resistances),Sin'Dall and King Bangalash.

Im playing at the Feathermoon Server as a level 23 Orc Hunter named Adobo with pet named Toyo.Sobrang kakakadik. World of Warcrack nga.

I just had this entertaining thing going on today,basically running from the tip of a enemy area to another with just one tauren pal without following the roads.I felt like frodo running around that much, although we did arrive near the orc outpost at elf lands near the beach.

Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater

Kojima has redeemed himself.

Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater is an excellent comeback game for the acclaimed game designer after a rather wimpy MGS2. I thought i was watching an old Sean Connery James Bond Movie when the opening credits rolled in. The game has excellent production values, the cutscenes are beautifully directed and the voice actors are top notch.

Now im hoping Kojima doesnt mess up MGS4. =)

Gravity Gun

Status: 30 Life, 0 Armor, 4 bullets

As i ran thru Ravenholm, blasting and firing like a madman, i came to a point where i didnt have much left. Sure, i had 4 handgun bullets left but it would cost all of those just to drop one of my pursuers.

Enter the Gravity Gun.

With the ability to manipulate, drag and throw game objects, this little baby saved my ass lots of times. No Ammo? No problem. With my back against the wall, i used objects such as tables, chairs, crates and even grinding blades as projectiles using my Gravity Gun. As weird as it may seem, it felt satisfying that a game would be able to let me use in game objects as impromptu weapons.

Needless to say, there were a lot of broken furniture during my stay at Ravenholm.

Half Life 2

Half Life 2 is the Game of the Year.

Not Doom 3. Not Far Cry.and no, not even Halo2 or GTA:San Andreas.

HL2 is stunning, not only in terms of gameplay and graphics but also its performance across different PC systems. From an ATI 9800 Pro to an integrated card, HL2 delivers the goods. The Source engine runs fully optimized in HL2, unlike Troika's almost great RPG Vampire:Bloodlines , fully immersing the player in the world of Gordon Freeman. Another observation is that the world sounds and weapon sounds are much stronger than Doom 3, not to mention the fantastic musical scores that really pump up the mood.
